Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Kingsley Osei Bonsu believes that with some decisions taken by the revive panel of the FA shows clearly that the referees officiating our league are not treated fairly.

William Agbovi have been banned with eight matches for failing to award a penalty to Wa All Stars when they lost to Medeama SC in their week 10 fixtures of the GPL whiles Alex Nsiah who officiated Bechem United and Wa All Stars in the week 8 fixtures has also been banned six matches for awarding Bechem United a late penalty when Wa All Stars lost by 2:1.

General Manager of Wa All Stars, Seth Panwum branded referee Alex Nsiah as disgraceful and unprofessional and want him banned when Wa All Stars lost to Bechem United.

Speaking to Asempa Sports, Kingsley said, “We don’t perform very well in our away matches but since we are an average club I think we have done well in our home matches but I don’t understand why a club like Bechem United will win against Wa All Stars and the referee will be banned for six matches.”

“Am not trying to speak in favor of referees but there has been some certain decisions that has been taken by the review panel which has not been fair and is not understandable because a referee has been banned eight matches and punished simply because he has awarded a penalty and I don’t want to conclude that the review panel are doing all this because of Wa All Stars.”

“The management of Wa All Stars wrote to the PLB and came out boldly to defend the referee who officiated their league match against the Techiman City saying the referee has done very well but I told Oduro Nyarko that with some certain decisions of the referees they should be careful with it.”

He also revealed that the review panel had it wrong when they brought out the decision to ban Alex Nsiah.

He said, “I have not watched the match Agbovi officiated against Medeama but we all know that Agbovi has much experience and a good referee as well but in our match against Wa All Stars it was clear penalty but the review panel said it wasn’t a penalty and due to this they have banned the referee six matches but in my opinion nobody can convince me that penalty the referee awarded to us was not a penalty and with some decisions like this it hugely demoralized the referees.”
