Accra, June 22, GNA - The Ghana Swimming Association will organize a Republic Day Gala at the Akosombo International School on Saturday, July 4.
The one-day event to commemorate the 49th Republic Day activities is part efforts towards promoting swimming in the country. A statement issued by Mr Alex J. Adjei, General Secretary of the Ghana Swimming Association said the championship is open to swimmers of all age categories.
It said that there will be fly, breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle for all categories.
Mr Adjei said the age categories have been grouped into 6 years and under, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 16 years and 17 years above categories. The statement added that registration forms for the championships are available at the offices of the Ghana Swimming Association at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra, Tesano Sports Club and Sports Office of the Akosombo International School, Akosombo. 22 June 09
