With barley a week to the annual Republican fun games to take place at the Brong Ahafo Regional capital, Sunyani, debate has started in taxis, market places, restaurants, drinking bars and on the streets as to who is going to emerge the champions of this year?s event.

This was made known to SPACE SUPERSPORT after the Events Co-ordinator, Kwabena Kyere Stugard had led a team of Sports journalists to assess the level of public interest in the event scheduled to take place between 1st and 2nd July at Sunyani Coronation park.

He said this year?s event, which would feature thirty two companies/organizations would be an improvement over the 2004 games. He called on the participating organizations to abide by the regulations governing the games to ensure smooth running of the programme.

Later in a separate interview, the General Manager/Director of SPACE FM, Ransford Antwi said the event has become an annual ritual in the Region. ?On the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations, it is very important that the people in the municipality came together in the spirit of national unity to engage in such activities?, he explained the rationale for the games.
