Senior Pastor of the Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro, has issued a stern warning to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), cautioning that the ongoing challenges in Ghanaian football will persist if they refuse to resign.

Over the years, the GFA has faced intense criticism for the poor state of football in Ghana. The country’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has further fueled frustration among football fans, many of whom are calling for reforms within the association.

Adding his voice to these calls, Dr. Kofi Oduro expressed his dissatisfaction with the GFA during a sermon on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The outspoken pastor urged the association's leaders to resign, warning that their continued stay in office would only lead to further embarrassment.

“I’m telling the handlers of Ghana Football to resign and go home peacefully. If not, the embarrassment will only grow worse. You will lose and keep losing until you walk away. I’m telling you, you’ve missed the opportunity to please God. The Lord knows what you’re doing in secret, and He is exposing it openly. Your pitch is good, your team is good, but they will still lose,” he said.

Dr. Oduro further alleged that the administrators’ unwillingness to address the issues stems from personal gains they derive from their positions. He warned them that time would eventually catch up with their actions.

“Do you know the rot going on in the administration of football? The reason it cannot be addressed is because those in the association are benefiting. Continue eating—you’ll soon throw it up,” he cautioned.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association is scheduled to meet with head coach Otto Addo on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, to discuss his future. Additionally, the GFA will hold a retreat the following day to engage stakeholders in Ghanaian football and explore solutions to revive the sport in the country.
