Spanish La Liga side Deportivo Alavés are set to sell Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso in the on-going transfer window, Footballghana.com can report.
Wakaso, whose contract expires in the summer has failed to agree on a new deal that will keep him at the club for a longer time.
The 29-year-old has been one of the best players at the club since joining them on a three-year deal from Greek side Panathinaikos.
He has featured in 26 games for Alavés in the Spanish La Liga this term and has been rated as one of the best midfielders in the league alongside his compatriot Thomas Partey.
His impressive performance for Deportivo Alavés this season has seen him linked to several clubs in Europe as well as China with Shanghai Senhua expressing interest to sign him in the ongoing January transfer window.
Despite the club's sporting director Sergio Fernández willing to keep him at the club for a long time, the decision to sell him would benefit both parties.
