Dr. Edward Mahama, leader of the People's National Convention (PNC), in a chat with Chronicle at Sunyani, has urged the government to ensure that ex-sports minister, Mallam Ali Issa (pictured), is treated before handing him over to his family.
Dr. Mahama, a presidential candidate for the party in the 2000 general elections said Mallam Isa was in good condition when Kufuor picked and made him the Youth and Sports minister and finally dumped in prison custody.
He observed that the intention of Kufuor for releasing the former sports minister is not to let him die in his hands, hence the amnesty granted to him.
According to him, he is expecting the government to treat Mallam Isa who was jailed for stealing $46,000 before handing him over to his family, so that he can support his family as he was doing, but not to wash its hands off from the treatment of the graduate prison Sports minister.
