The complete results of the voting for the 2015 African Footballer of Year released by CAF revealed that Ghana's Andre Ayew was voted for by the countries of his close competitors.
The Ghana and Swansea City star lost out to Gabon and Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubamenyang, but the complete results show that both Gabon and Ivory Coast voted for Andre.
Gabon voted 4 points for Andre Ayew, 5 points for Aubamenyang and a point for Yaya Toure.
Ivory Coast voted 4 points for Andre Ayew, none for the winner Aubameyang and 5 points for Yaya Toure.
However, Ghana voted only for Andre Ayew by giving him 5 points but did not vote for either Aubamenyang or Yaya Toure.
The award to the Gabonese as the 2015 African Footballer of the Year has raised eyebrows on the continent with mixed reactions on social media criticizing the choice.
