Ridge Stars appeal for postponement of Middle League.

Asankrangwa (W/R) March 30, GNA - The Management of Asankrangwa Ridge Stars FC has appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to postpone the forthcoming Western Regional Second Division Middle League until the impasse between the Club and Agona Amenfi Famous FC as well as the Western Regional Football Association had been amicably settled. The Club also urged the GFA to set up an independent body to investigate the circumstances that led the Western Regional secretariat of the GFA to declare them losers in a match, which was not honoured by Amenfi Famous FC.

Making the appeal through the GNA Sports at Asankrangwa on Monday, Mr. Roxy Armoh, Chairman of Ridge Stars said the match, which was to be played at Asankrangwa was postponed four times and even though Amenfi Famous FC failed to turn up at each of the appointed dates, they were surprisingly declared winners.

Mr Armoh said he was shocked and dismayed when he received a letter from the Western Regional Football Association declaring his club losers in a match that was not played because of the failure of their opponents to turn up.

He said he had earlier petitioned the Regional Football Association to declare his team the winner because of the persistent failure of Amenfi Famous FC to turn up for the match.

The Chairman said he could therefore not believe that the Regional Association could take such a biased decision against his Club, adding that this was not the first time that his club was being given a "raw deal" by the Association.

Mr Armoh also appealed to the Ministry of Education and Sports to intervene in the case to ensure fair play and discipline in football administration in the Western Region.
