Isaac Amponsah emerged winner of the Eagle Extra Stout Armwrestling challenge held in the Sunyani on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

The event which was hosted by the Brong Ahafo Armwrestling Association at the Sunyani Technical University was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of STU, Armwrestling top executives, hundreds of spectators as well as participants who took turns to display their armwrestling skills.

However Isaac Amponsah’s display of strength, power and smartness earned him the accolade as the champion of the competition albeit being first runner-up the heavyweight category.

Speaking after his victory, Isaac described his first ever armwrestling experience as an incredible one and expressed his delight in being named the champion of the Brong Ahafo Region.

"I feel excited because it was just out of the moon. My friends pushed me into this contest and I realized that with their motivation I could do it and it really pushed me far. I will read more and try my hands on more armwrestling techniques so that I can maintain my form. I’m proud of myself”.

The secretary of the Brong Ahafo Armwrestling Association, Mr. Kwabena Kyere remarked that the program lived up to its billing and expressed gratitude to everyone who made it a success.

"The program went beyond our imagination because we didn't expect it to be this big. We also thank the media, students and the people of Sunyani for showing up. We are grateful to everyone. This is just the beginning. We have other plans for the region and our next destination is Techiman, he said.

Brands Manager for Eagle Extra Stout from ABL, Mr. John Baptist Akado expressed his excitement about the development partnership with Armwrestling.

"Armwrestling symbolizes Eagle Extra Stout's "Full Flavour, Full Strength". We needed a property and we settled on Armwrestling also because the Federation acts professional and they believe in building brands". We're impressed and will continue with them.
