Right to Dream’s (RtD) U-15’s recorded a resounding 5:3 victory over Scottish opponents Motherwell FC on their tour of the UK on Thursday 9 th May.

RtD raced into the lead through Ernest Agyiri before Frank Arhin, Mohammed Zakyi and Evans Mensah piled on the misery for the home team with further goals in the first half.

Motherwell, otherwise known as The Steelmen, pulled one goal back but Evans Mensah scored his second of the afternoon to reestablish his side’s 4 goal lead.

Back from the break, Motherwell scored two more goals but it was too little, too late as the RtD U-15’s sealed a memorable victory.

The RtD team had shown a lot of promise during their tour of the UK with some outstanding performances, beating Wolves 4:0 and drawing 1:1 with Scottish giants Celtic in their last two fixtures.

Gareth Henderby’s team went into the fixture with Motherwell buoyed by those performances. It did not take too long for team to settle down as Ernest Agyiri ghosted past a defender to slot in with his right foot.

Frank Arhin registered his side’s second goal, sliding in from close range following Farouk’s cross at the end of some neat passing.

Mohammed Zakyi, who is not known for his goal scoring prowess, got the biggest cheer of the game when he added the third goal.

The best was yet to come though. Evans Mensah finished aplomb, picking up Nana Fobih’s diagonal pass, lifting the ball over the onrushing right back with his first touch and smashing into the net with his second touch.

Mensah scored his second goal of the day, connecting home Adjie’s deep cross, after ‘The Steelmen’ had redeemed a goal, to end the first half.

Motherwell scored two more goals in the second half but the RtD U-15’s held on to win their first game in Scotland, on their tour of the UK.

Meanwhile, the U-15's continue their tour with a game against Manchester City on Wednesday 15th May.
