SIC win Red Cross Fun Games

Accra, May 16, GNA-State Insurance Company of Ghana (SIC) beat Media Eleven 4-3 on penalties to win this year's Ghana Red Cross Society Fun Games held at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Saturday. It was SIC who opened the scoring through John Osei in the 10th minute but the media men fought back gamely in the second half and levelled up the scores through a penalty taken by enterprising Nii Lante-Vanderpuiye in the third minute of the second half and when the penalty kicks were evoked, SIC scored three as against two by the media men.

Accra, May 16, GNA-State Insurance Company of Ghana (SIC) beat Media Eleven 4-3 on penalties to win this year's Ghana Red Cross Society Fun Games held at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Saturday. It was SIC who opened the scoring through John Osei in the 10th minute but the media men fought back gamely in the second half and levelled up the scores through a penalty taken by enterprising Nii Lante-Vanderpuiye in the third minute of the second half and when the penalty kicks were evoked, SIC scored three as against two by the media men. Unilever Ghana Limited beat African Ground Operation (AFGO) 2-1 to retain the Tug-of-Peace trophy. Mr Forster Gagbo, Vice President of the Society said the society organised the games to raise funds to support its activities. He charged the youth to take active interest in sports so that they could stay healthy at all times.
