Accra, Dec. 23, GNA - The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has extended its sincere appreciation to corporate bodies and individuals who supported the Association in the organization of the just ended 33rd Awards Night held at the Round Pavilion Trade Fair Center, Accra.
In a statement issued and signed by William Ezah, Deputy General Secretary of SWAG, it said the success of the event cannot be mentioned without the support of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO), Voltic Ghana Limited, Coca Cola Ghana limited, Kasapreko Distilleries, Kenpong Construction Limited, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) and Graphic Group Communications Limited.
The statement also paid its particular appreciation to Mr Peter Osei-Duah, Managing Director of State Insurance Company Limited for his role as the Special Guest of Honour for the event, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, National Sports Council (NSC) and head of the various associations under the NSC for their diverse contributions to the success of the event.
It added that "the Association cannot forget the contributions of its Patrons and members who went the extra mile to see to the successful execution of the programme."
"We are convinced that corporate bodies, stakeholders in sports, Patrons and members will continue to support the Association in its effort to promote sporting excellence in the country". According to the statement, the Association has taken note of the delay in the organization of this year's event and that the necessary steps will be taken to ensure an improved event next year.
