Accra, Feb. 22, GNA - The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated Mrs Theodosia Okoh for the honours conferred on her by the state for designing the national flag of Ghana. A statement signed by Mr Ackah Anthony, President of SWAG, said: "As a patroness of SWAG we wish to share the joy and glory that come with this great honour.

"We feel very proud of the fact that the national flag, which has become one of the hottest commodities in the country in recent times due to the sterling performance of the Black Stars, was designed by our a patroness".

The statement said the honour confirmed the fact that Mrs Okoh's role in national development, which cuts across all spheres of life, could not be quantified.

The statement said the Association was proud of Mrs Okoh, who had been behind the association with her wise counsel that had seen the Association progress from strength to strength. Mrs Okoh was recently honoured by the nation for designing the national flag as part of the nation's Golden Jubilee celebration. Mrs Okoh is one of the longest serving patrons of the association.
