The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee, to be open and transparent to all stakeholders within the football industry.
“In consonance with its dream the Sports Writers Association of Ghana urges the Normalisation Committee to seek immediate dialogue with all key players of the industry in the spirit of openness and transparency as the road map is laid before all.
“We must make a solemn pledge that never again shall we go back to the depraved and transgressive past that made us the butt of all jokes to the world,” he added.,
Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, President of SWAG made this call in his speech at the 44th SWAG Awards Night in Accra on Saturday.
SWAG made up of sports journalists across the country said, the Normalisation Committee needed to dialogue with the necessary football brains because the transition Ghana football was undergoing required all hands on deck to ensure the game was better reformed.
He said, it was time football people choose hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflicts and discord in a bid to ensure the growth of the sport.
Mr. Yeboah said, unity was important for a successful normalisation of football, hence urged all necessary players to find ways of sharing ideas for the interest of the game.
Mr. Yeboah also appealed to all our feuding federations to take immediate steps to resolve their differences out of court in the interest of the disciplines they superintend.
“The unending litigations are doing more harm than good to our sports,” he said.
