A late penalty by Saddick Adams earned Asante Kotoko a point in an outstanding Ghana Premier League game with Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The match, a Week 23 fixture, was postponed as a result of the deadly bus crash Asante Kotoko suffered last month.
It was the first outing for the hosts, having sat out of play since the accident on Wednesday, July 12.
After a goalless first half in the game, officiated by Dally Gagba, the Phobians broke the deadlock in the 59th minute through Kwame Kizito.
The build-up started with Winful Cobbina in midfield. But a controversial handball in the Hearts’ goal area gave the Porcupine Warriors the opportunity to settle for a point.
And the opportunity was well-taken after Adams beat goalkeeper Ben Mensah. The point earned helps Kotoko go past Medeama SC to fourthon the log while Hearts remain third – behind leaders Aduana Stars and WAFA.
Kotoko’s final outstanding game against WAFA will be cleared on Wednesday, August 23 at Sogakope.
