Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has alleged that Accra Hearts of Oak’s back and forth performances in the Ghana Premier League is as a result of cooked-up stories by some unconcerned individuals.
The former Black Stars defender said he is self-assured that Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV is up to the task of resolving issues that have bedeviled the oldest club in Ghana for so long.
According to Sam Johnson, known popularly as ‘Foyoo’, other individuals have incessantly fed the Board members of the Club with defaming information about individuals who have great interest in helping the club.
“I’m very sure there are some people who don’t tell the truth about some individuals and the state of the club to Togbe Afede… Many and better coaches like Duncan, Kenichi, others were sent away on wrong grounds which shouldn’t have happened should the board members investigate extensively to know the real cause,” Sam Johnson said on UTV’s Atuu.
Commenting on the upsurge of Foreign coaches in the Ghanaian League, Sam Johnson said that local coaches should be held in high esteem just as the foreign coaches.
When asked if he will accept to manage the National Team, he said, “No I won’t do it… People are there to do it, people who are willing to do it but for me, I don’t want to be a coach.”
The former Black Stars defender expressed his disappointment not being able to win a medal for Ghana as a former player of the national team.
