Former Ghana defender Samuel Johnson has urged Kwadwo Asamoah to join Galatasaray before the ongoing transfer window shuts.

The 28-year-old is reported to be close to sealing a move to the Turkish giants following is inability to lock down regular playing time at Juventus last term.

According to Samuel Johnson, who spent fourteen years during his illustrous footballing career in Turkey has implored the former versatile Udinese midfielder to grasp the opportunity and join the 22-time Turkish champions before the end of the summer transfer window.

"I think he should leave because the fact of the matter is, Asamoah is struggling to get regular playing time in his team and now he's decided to return to the national team which means, we'll need him to be 100% fit and in shape when he returns, so as a Ghanaian I'll be happy if the move can materialize soon," Johnson told ETV's E-Sports Show.

"However, if he decides to stay at Juventus and fight for his position, I think it will be a mistake on his part because sometimes as a player when you're in such situation, you'd want to stay and fight but you'll keep on fighting and still sit on the bench because you might not know that there is somebody in the technical staff or even in the management who doesn't like you."

"Many things are involved in these kinds of situation. The man is growing and for how long is he going to wait for his chance. If he were to be in his 19's or 20's I'll urge him to stay on but the truth of the matter is, he is growing and he needs to enjoy regular football, so I'll be delighted for him if the move goes through. And going to a club like Galatasaray, I think it'll be great because they are a big club, not only in Turkey but Europe as well and their fans are very passionate. He will be adored there and they don't care about the colour of your skin, if you are good they will support you with everything. It's my prayer that everything goes well for him to complete this deal," he concluded.
