Ghana's injury-list shows little sign of easing in the short-term as Germany based defender Hans Adu Sarpei has suffered a groin injury in their training camp in South Africa.
The Beyer Leverkusen left back sustained the injury in Friday’s friendly with the local second tiers club Swallows FC.
He did not train on Saturday to help his recuperation even though it is thought he would recover well before the tournament starts on 10 January in Angola.
This comes as a new blow to the already injury-ravaged Black Stars with just one week to the African Cup of Nations in Angola.
Influential stars Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, John Mensah and John Paintsil are all ruled out of the tournament with injuries.
The fitness of Michael Essien and Anthony Annan is in doubt as both players would have just recovered when the tournament starts.
The injuries threaten Ghana hopes of winning their fifth African Cup of Nations title for the tournament.
