Nsawam based second division side, Satellite City Football Club have set their eyes on winning the 2018 edition of the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup.

The annual competition which is held in the United States of America, is scheduled for March 25th to 1st of April, 2018.

The Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup seeks to provide young footballers around the world a platform to exhibit their God-given talents to world-renowned scouts.

Satellite City Football Club will be representing Ghana in the under-18 category and their Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Yeboah is confident his side will ink their name in the tournament’s books by becoming the first Ghanaian side to lift the cup.

Samuel Yeboah is adamant his side will replicate the feat by two Nigerian clubs who represented Africa in previous editions by winning the tournament.

“I’m glad we are going to take part in the U-18 category of this tournament. Our major target is to win the tournament".

"This is the first time a Ghanaian team is going to participate in the tournament and our aim is to win the tournament. Two Nigerian clubs participated in previous editions and they both won in their respective years so we also want to repeat what they did”, Yeboah said.

On preparations ahead of the tournament, Yeboah disclosed that the club, upon receiving the invitation have intensified their training and camping activities and are ready to take on heavyweights like Manchester United, Arsenal and Toronto FC who have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

“We are fully prepared for the tournament. We have been in camp since last year and even the X’mas holidays we were in camp and training because we are aware of the task ahead. Last week, we moved our camping base from Nsawam to Akyem Amanfrom where we are going to train for the next one month. When you are coming up against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United you have to prepare adequately for it and I’m impressed with our activities so far”, he added.

The coach of the side, Desmond Quansah who has been receiving mentoring talks from Dreams FC coach, Karim Zito is optimistic his team which boasts of under-17 stars John Otoo and Kingsley Owusu will make Ghanaians proud by winning the ultimate.

A contingent of 32 members are expected to leave Ghana in the first week of March for the tournament.
