Satellites’ Adiyiah wants Rwanda show again

Fredrikstad FK’s Dominic Adiyiah is positive of the Black Satellites chances of fetching honours for the country when they kick-start their “BRING THE CUP HOME” campaign in the 17th edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Egypt.

The striker who was part of the team that chalked success in the African Youth Championships early February in Rwanda this year has been in mesmerizing form with an average of a goal per game for the side in their run-through games prior to the commencement of the tourney.

Speaking to *‘GHANAFOOTY’* in Egypt, the Fredrikstad ace hopes his remarkable goal scoring run would not elude him when the Black Satellites meet Uzbekistan in their Group D opener. He said: “I am happy about the way that I have been playing. It has been good to be scoring in every game. I do hope to continue this run when we play Uzbekistan.”

“We have been playing well and we believe in our capabilities. We know we are good enough to get to the finals and we are hoping to reach the finals like what we did in Rwanda. We are the best on the African continent and we proved that in Rwanda. It’s now time to prove our worth to the world and I know we can.”

Ghana plays Uzbekistan in their opening fixture at the Ismailia Stadium this Saturday and would be fervent to better their performance in the 1993 edition where they came second to Brazil with lip smacking performances from the likes of Samuel Osei Kuffour, Augustine Ahinful, Emmanuel Duah and Charles Akonnor. Ghana is in Group D with the likes of Uzbekistan, England and Uruguay.
