Cape Coast, June 16, GNA - Schalke 04 played a determined game to hold the University of Cape Coast (UCC) football team to a 1-1 draw in a friendly football match at Cape Coast. After a goalless first-half, it was Schalke 04 who resumed the second half strongly and scored the opener in the 55th minute through their midfielder, Kofi Baah.
Cape Coast, June 16, GNA - Schalke 04 played a determined game to hold the University of Cape Coast (UCC) football team to a 1-1 draw in a friendly football match at Cape Coast. After a goalless first-half, it was Schalke 04 who resumed the second half strongly and scored the opener in the 55th minute through their midfielder, Kofi Baah. The midfielder after collecting a pass from the left flank out paced two defenders of the University lads to score the opener. The UCC team which was incensed by the goal, from then put their acts together and launched a sustained attack for most part of the half but poor shooting denied them of the much needed equaliser until in the 85th minute when outside right, John Mensah made amends to level up the scores to send the University lads into a jubilant mood.
