Schalke 04 recall Rahman for treatment

Baba Rahman, black stars defender returning to the pitch at the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations is in doubt after Schalke 04 requested the player returns to Germany for treatment due to the injury he suffered against Uganda on Tuesday.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of the game against Uganda and left the team’s camp for a medical check-up in the Gabonese capital, Libreville, on Wednesday.

Schalke 04 tweeted on Wednesday that Rahman would return to Gelsenkirchen for further examination.

Meanwhile right full back Harrison Afful did not take part in the team’s training session on Wednesday because he was under the weather.

The Black Stars will play Mali on Saturday and a win will guarantee them qualification to the quarter-finals of the competition.
