Kevin-Prince Boateng
Schalke 04 have insisted that they are yet to receive any offers for Kevin-Prince Boateng, although they have reminded suitors that they are keen to offload the Ghana international.
Speaking to Bild, the club’s sporting director Horst Heldt has confirmed that the Royal Blues have not had any interest in the Black Star.
"First of all a club has to contact us and then we will see how the negotiations will go," Heldt began, discussing the futures of both Boateng and German international Sidney Sam.
"All parties involved want to find a solution. In the end, both players want to continue their careers."
Horst was responsible for sanctioning Boateng and Sam following Schalke’s disappointing away defeat to FC Koln towards the end of the Bundesliga season.
While initial reports indicated that both players had been released by the Miners, Schalke later confirmed that the two players had been suspended indefinitely, rather than ended the pair’s contracts.
However, neither man appears to have a future at Schalke and both have been linked with a move away from the club.
If Heldt’s comments are anything to go by, the Gelsenkirchen outfit are actively looking to offload the disgraced duo, with little chance given for either man to make a comeback at the Veltins-Arena.
While initial reported interest from Boateng from Major League Soccer has amounted to nothing, other sides are rumoured to be keen on the forward.
Galatasaray have been heavily linked with a move for the box-to-box midfielder, while AC Milan have also been rumoured to be considering a move to bring the Black Star back to Serie A.
Boateng himself has admitted that he is not looking to return to Italy, although considering the dearth of concrete options available to him right now, a move back to the San Siro might not be such an unappealing option.
