Inter Allies attacker Victorien Adebayor is refusing to be carried away but his current form that has seen him score ten goals in nine Premier League matches.

The Nigerian is one of two players who have so far bagged ten goals in GPL and are set for a hot chase for the goal king award.

Over the weekend, the left-footed striker scored a brace for his side against Chelsea but it’s his second goal on the day that has sent tongues wagging on various media platforms.

But Adebayor says scoring goals is part of his duties and thus will not get complacent.

“Playing football and scoring goals is what I do. It is my work. Anytime that I am on the field, I feel comfortable and all I want to do is to score.

On the second goal, I managed to play a one-two with my teammate. Once I got it back, I managed to steady myself, check back onto my left football, and I took a look at the goalie. Once I noticed his positioning, I went for the shot.”

Adebayor’s imperious form is not only a headache to opposing defenders but Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed.

According to the 32-year-old, the goal-scoring prowess of the much-younger Adebayor gives him ‘sleepless nights’.

"He is a super player. To be honest with you he gave me a sleepless night on Saturday because I was leading him and he overtook me by a two-goal margin and I had to do better. Beating Chelsea 3:1 at home is a huge result for Inter Allies.

Up next for Adebayor and Inter Allies is a week 11 fixture with Medeama at the Accra Sports Stadium
