The management of the Biriwa Beach Hotel in consultation with Visco Walking Club has put together a programme intended to see the second BIRIWA BEACH HOTEL WALK take place at 6am on Saturday March 1, 2003.
The walk starts from Victoria Park, through the principal streets of Cape Coast and will end at the Biriwa Beach Hotel.
First prize winner will be hosted by the hotel for a weekend stay where he or she will enjoy every facility and will be given a trophy and a certificate in addition.
In the maiden walk held last year Stanley Briamah of Cape Coast won first place followed by Vincent Asumang and Musah Muda in that order.
An executive member of the Visco Walking Club Mr. Booba Clottey commended Biriwa Beach Hotel for their continued immeasurable contributions towards raising the interest of walking in Ghana for the good part of 12 years.
A massive turn around in participation is expected throughout the country. Meanwhile registration has opened in earnest at the regional Sports Council and admission is ?5000. Those outside of Cape Coast may register by E-mail: viscowalk@hotmail.com or call 020-8167623.
