Accra, Feb. 27, GNA - The much-publicized Red Bull/YAZZ 15-kilometre endurance walk to commemorate Ghana's 49th Independence Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 11. The walk, originally fixed for Saturday March 4, has to be rescheduled because of a clean-up campaign being organized by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly on March 4.
The clean exercise, the second to be organized in two month is to wipe the metropolis of filth. Organizers of the walk, the Maximum Gym and Fitness Centre in Dansoman told the GNA Sports that Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, Minister of Education and Sports would lead a pack of health conscious people for the exercise.
It begins from the Osekan Beach at the High Street in Accra through Adabraka, Kaneshie, Mataheko and then to the Gym at Dansoman. More than 34 organizations including Churches and Keep Fit Clubs in the Metropolis have confirmed their participation in the programme. Nii Amarh Amarteifio, Public Relations Officer of the Gym told the He said a lecture has also been earmarked on the correlation between a good diet and fitness by a prominent resource person at the end of the Walk.
