Ghana Premier League cult hero Hans Kwoffie was laid to rest on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Dompim Pepesa in the Western Region.

The funeral rites of the former Legon Cities striker were attended by the Ghanaian football fraternity, led by the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku.

Kurt Okraku led a GFA team that included some Executive Council members to pay their last respects to Hans Kwoffie for his contribution to the rise of the Ghana Premier League.

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) also sent a delegation led by General Secretary Anthony Baffoe.

Hans Kwoffie died on June 21, 2024, in a car accident while on his way to his hometown, Dompim Pepesa.

The 35-year-old, who was reportedly due to travel to Germany for a transfer-related activity, died alongside a friend named Gideon, who was due to marry the following day.

Hans Kwoffie, who played for Heart of Lions, Medeama SC, Bechem United, and Ashanti Gold, won the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot in the 2017/2018 season.
