After guiding Ghana U-20 team to record an important 3-2 win over Argentina on Tuesday, coach Sellas Tetteh says the victory should spur his team to make it to the last four of the tournament.

The former Black Stars deputy coach, who won gold medal in 2009 followed by a bronze in Turkey two years ago, wants to be decorated again at this year's championship.

Ghana drew their first match 1-1 against Austria but bounced back in a remarkable style to silence tournament favourites, Argentina, at the Wellington Regional Stadium.

The Satellites broke the deadlock in the 44th minute through Benjamin Tetteh, before Clifford Aboagye and Yaw Yeboah added one each in the second half.

However, the South American champions almost clawed back following two late replies from Giovanni Simeone and Buendia.

The win moves Ghana to the summit of Group B and within the reach of a slot in the knockout stage.

“The first couple of matches at a tournament are always tough. We analysed the Austria game in detail and did a much better job against Argentina. Our minimum target is still to reach the semi-finals, and it won't be difficult to achieve that if we can continue to deliver the kind of performance we produced against the South Americans,” Tetteh told Fifa.com.

“I'm very happy with the encounter. I was particularly pleased with Samuel Tetteh -but football is and will always be a team effort,” he said.

Ghana's next match is against Panama on Friday, while Argentina take on Austria in the other Group B match.
