Ghana Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh has confirmed he has been contacted by Egyptian side Ismaily to replace Shawky Gharib, who has been appointed coach of the Pharaohs.

Ismaily president Mahmoud Abou El-Soud told the local press they are in talks with the 2009 World U-20 winning coach to manage The Yellow Dragons.

Tetteh said he is yet to make a firm decision over the deal.

“As a matter of fact, they have contacted me but I’m surprised it is in the newspapers and websites so quickly,” Tetteh told Angel FM. “I cannot for sure point it out that I’m going to take the job or not because I would have to consider so many things.”

He added: “You know I’m a national coach [Ghana U20] at the moment. I have not decided or thought about it but when a team like that is looking for me that tells you the capabilities. You remember Ismaily was the place we started our group matches in 2009 so they know me very well. They know my capabilities.”

The former Liberty Professionals coach could be the first west African to lead a top flight side in Egypt should he take the job.
