Asante Kotoko as part of their preparation for the 2015/16 league season engaged in a light shake-up friendly game by beating the Black Stars 1992 squad 4-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

The game was put together to mark Ghana’s 50th anniversary since winning the 1965 Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON).

The Porcupine Warriors never felt any mercy for the aging 1992 Black Stars squad as young players like Dauda Mohammed and Sarfo Gyamfi took advantage over their opponent sluggishness to hit them with long balls.

Dauda Mohammed shot the Kumasi lads into the lead before Michael Yeboah made it two as the first half of the game came to an end.

The event attracted important dignitaries like ex-President Rawlings, the Ghana FA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi and ex-Bayern Munich star Osei Kuffuor.

From to recess, the 1992 Black Squad came in strongly but they were put to rest by Asante Kotoko as Michael Yeboah registered his second goal on the day and Kotoko's third.

The 1992 squad never got despaired as they pulled one back through Felix Aboagaye but Kotoko restored their three-goal lead following Elvis Amoh’s neat finish.

Frank Osei reduced the deficit for the 1992 squad as the game ended 4-2 in favour of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
