Legendary footballer, Sergio Ramos has stirred mixed reactions with his new song titled “Cibeles”, following the release of emotionally charged lyrics in portions of the track.

Part of the song’s lyrics read: “There are things I didn't tell you that still hurt. I never wanted to leave you asked me to fly.”

He went on to say: “I wasn’t myself. You asked me to fly. Thank goodness I left, because you didn’t treat me the same. I’d rather die standing than live on my knees. You forgot about me. You left me aside. Without being able to decide  that’s what hurts me the most.”

According to reports from Spain, this section is seen as a direct jab at Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, in relation to the circumstances surrounding Ramos’ departure from the club.

Although Ramos did not mention any names explicitly, many believe he is taking a swipe at Perez for what he perceives as unfair treatment before his departure.

Ramos scored 101 goals across 671 appearances for Real Madrid, assuming captaincy duties and becoming a modern-day legend at the club.
