Former management member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Farouk Al-Wahab has expressed his disappoint in government over plans to dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA), following the latest explosive expose from Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He did not understand why the government is taking immediate steps to dissolve the football association when they have no such powers to take that decision.

The GFA has been slapped with a 10-day ban by Accra High Court and prevented from undertaking any activities.

Government has also set up a five member interim management team to manage the affairs of the association.

He believes the decision by government is wrong and unfortunate stressing, government does not have the authority to do so.

He stated the football association is under FIFA and could not be dissolved through the processes initiated by the current administration.

Even FIFA and CAF granted a provisional ban so why is the government planning to dissolve the football association.

He also stated that, he sees no use in the appointment of 5 member interim management committee, as he described it as needless. They cannot run the association on their own they will be fruitless.''

The problem was with some individuals not the entire management of the football association therefore, the best solution was to remove those implicated and replace them with new faces, he suggested.

He also took a swipe at the Tiger Eye PI team describing their expose and the method as unprofessional. The video he said is a disgrace to the nation because we have been exposed to global embarrassment.

The government has set-up a five-member Interim Management Committee to oversee the administration of football and other related matters in Ghana. According to a release issued by the Ministry of Information, the Committee chaired by Dr Kofi Amoah has Cudjoe Fianoo, Abedi Pele, Reverend Osei Kofi and Eva Okyere as members. Mr Dan Kweku Yeboah will serve as the committee's spokesperson.

A statement signed by Information Minister, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid said, ‘’pursuant to an application for interim at the instance of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, for an order restraining members, directors and officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from exercising such powers as are ordinarily conferred on them by the provisions of the Companies Act (Act 179, the GFA statutes and other appointment of executives and other officials, the High Court Commercial Division, yesterday the 12th June, 2018, granted the said application as prayed, for a limited at the end of this period, to seek a more permanent injunction.

‘’In the meantime, the government of Ghana has decided to set up an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to overseer the administration of football and other related matters in Ghana.’’
