‘Shanghai offer for Gyan too big to resist’

Mega-rich UAE giants Al Ain say the mammoth offer from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG for their Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan was too big to resist.

Ghana’s leading football news outfit exclusively revealed on Monday that the 29-year-old was leaving the UAE giants for the Chinese side after the mouth-watering offer.

Gyan, 29, was the subject of an offer worth approximately €20 million from Sven-Goran Eriksson’s ambitious side which was exclusively revealed by Ghanasoccernet.com on Monday.

Al Ain will make double the amount they paid for Gyan when they signed him from English side Sunderland three years ago when he was at his prime.

The rich UAE side admits despite their wealth they are unable to resist the big amount Shanghai SIPG will be paying for the Ghanaian striker.

“Something is happening,” a senior Al Ain official told Sport 360 on Monday night.

“Very soon, everything will become clear about the situation.

“When you’ve received double the money you’ve paid for Gyan, you have to let him go.”

The Boss are set to reap a significant profit on the investment made bringing him to the Garden City, a £6m loan fee being paid to Premier League outfit Sunderland in September 2011 with another £4m following in July 2012 to make it permanent.
