Single judges for GFA disciplinary committee

The Ghana Football Association is to put in place the single-judge system to stem

the delays in dispensing justice within its judicial bodies.

The Disciplinary Committee's delays in dealing with cases brought before it has been

identified a key factor in the disruption of the league's calendar.

The DC's inability to form a quorum in their sittings is also another reason why

there are delays in dealing with disciplinary issues.

As part of the measures to deal speedily with disciplinary issues, an individual

will be appointed to rule on cases, says Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

"There is the proposal to introduce the single judge in the judicial systems of the

GFA," Nyantakyi said.

"This is to ensure that the judge will deal with cases as expeditiously as possible

so the delays are minimised.

"Sometimes the committee may convene to hear a case - there will be no quorum- and

that delays the hearing of the cases.

"If there is one person who has been empowered to deal with the cases, we will get

justice delivered instantly."

The new law will be tabled before Congress in September for approval.

The Ghana Premier League will start on 7 October.
