-Sir Cecil Jones Attuquafio Passing, a Great Loss to Football

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has sent a message of condolence to the family and well wishers of ex Black Stars defender and coach, Sir Cecil Jones Attuquafio whose death was announced on Tuesday.

"We received with pain and bitterness the news of the passing away of one of the most outstanding footballers in Ghana, Sir Cecil Jones Attuquafio, who also went on to become a great coach," a statement signed by its secretary Anthony Baffoe read.

"Sir Jones, as fondly called by most people was a man of great attributes whose presence changed everything he touched positively. The PFAG extends our condolence to the family of Sir Cecil Jones Attuquafio, the football fraternity and Ghanaians in general. We are sorry for the loss and our thoughts are with the family during these difficult times."

"The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) feels proud to have been associated with Sir Jones and memories of his works will continue to inspire ex and current footballers to strive to achieve more. His life was a well lived one and will be celebrated accordingly as we seek to imbibe in the younger generation his positive attributes, just as he did," it noted.

”Sir Jones will live in our memories forever. Fare thee well brave warrior," it added.
