Ghana defeated Nigeria 3-2 to win the second edition of the Binatone International Skate Soccer Cup played at the independence square in Accra on Sunday.
Ghana’s captain Gariba Saani, was involved in all three goals for his side, scoring once and providing two assists on the day which won him the goal king award.
The Ghanaian team displayed great performance to beat their counterparts to lift the coveted trophy.
Present were Sunil Lalvani the Group CEO of Binatone and Mr Venu Babu the MD for Binatone Group.
The CEO of Binatone, Sunil was optimistic the game will go far.
“There is going to be a rematch in Nigeria we need to take advantage of the hype and move the sport forward.
“We will introduce league in Ghana to help develop the game,” he also announced.
Team Ghana took home GH¢10,000 as prize money.
The organizers used the occasion to launch the International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) with the headquarters to be sited in Ghana.
Ghana becomes the first country to win the Binatone International Cup as this is the first time they play a team from outside the country.
Skate soccer is a game which helps talented physically challenged persons who are found on the streets to harness their skills in the Skate Board Soccer.
