Accra, July 10, GNA - Soadzedey Stars gathered 49 points to win the Second Quarterly State Insurance Company of Ghana Limited (SIC) Inter Departmental Fun Games held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday.
Afrifa Yamoah Stars came second with 33 points, while Asafo Adjei Stars placed third with 22 points with Osei Duah Stars placing fourth with 13 points.
More than 100 employees drawn from the four departments of the company took part in the one-day games of Soccer, Tug-of-War and Athletics.
In the Soccer finals, Afrifa Yamoah Satrs whacked Asafo Adjei Stars 4-0 with Soadzedey Stars winning the third-placed match by beating Osei Duah Stars 2-1.
Mr Peter Osei Duah, Managing Director of SIC said the company organised the event to keep their employees in a healthy state, since the company believes that a "healthy employee is a better competent worker".
He said the games was also aimed at fostering unity among the various departments and also involving their families to interact with each other.
Mr Duah said the company would soon introduce the games to the other parts of the regions and gave the assurance it would ensure that it gets its own sports facilities.
