Soccer administrators welcome Nyaho

Accra, April 14, GNA - Soccer administrators in the country have welcomed the election of Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe as the new Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

A cross section of the administrators that the GNA Sports spoke with welcomed Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe aboard the mainstream of Ghana football and expressed their desire to lend him the required support to move the sport forward.

Most of the administrators who shared their impressions and expectations about the newly elected chairman were convinced that Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe was "one man" capable of turning the fortunes of the game around with the right approach.

Mr Joseph Yaw Appiah, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) expressed his admiration in confirmation of the new Chairman, whom he described as a strong-minded person capable of transforming the game.

"Doctor is his own man and in whom I have no doubt that he can stand up to anything in the name of moving the global leather forward". The Chairman was convinced that with the appropriate support from all stakeholders, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe will achieve an enviable feat during his tenure of office

Alhaji Yusif Adams Ibrahim, Chairman of the Executive Council of the GFA disclosed his outfit's desire to accord the new Chairman the needed cooperation in his quest to implement his visions to the letter.

Alhaji Ibrahim commenting on Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe's acceptance speech told the GNA Sports said that " He has what it takes to work and I can only wish him well to succeed where others have failed".

Alhaji Karim Grunsah, founder of King Faisal Football Club was no different from the earlier speakers as the outspoken chairman said he believed that Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe can thrive if he adheres to the rules and regulations governing the game.

Alhaji Grunsah, however, believes that speaking and implementing issues are two separate things and urged Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe to endeavour to hold fast in his quest to execute his vision. He articulated his view and said if the Chairman's vision was of " truth, dedication and hard work it will ensure that he accomplished his aims.

Mr Owuahene Acheampong, Accra representative of Obuasi Goldfeilds Sporting Club summarized what he termed his high expectation saying "I can only hope that we qualify to our first World Cup in Germany in 2006."

Mr Ntow Fiaako, an Executive Council Member was blunt with his view and said that though he was hopeful about the Doctor's capabilities, he believes accomplishing the outlined programmes that the Chairman made in his acceptance speech will require more that hard work.

He told the GNA that managing issues involving football is a different ballgame which requires loads of effort, though he believes the new chairman has what it takes to fulfil his objectives.

Coach Osam Doudo, Technical Director of the GFA on his part welcomed Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe on board and expressed the confidence that the right procedure will be followed to bring triumph to Ghana soccer.
