Ibrahim Sunday Ghanaian football legend and former coach of Asante Kotoko, has said many Ghanaians did not want the Black Stars to win the just ended 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He said a lot of people were not happy with the Black Stars going into the competition hence the failure of the team.
According to the Black Stars Management Committee Member, this was the first time the government did everything possible for the team to win, but some Ghanaians didn’t want the team to win, for reasons best known to them.
In an exlusieve inteview with Ghanacrusader Sports, Sunday said many Ghanaians contributed to the downfall of the Black Stars.
“If you are a Ghanaian and your team is going to play and you are praying that the team should lose, are u really a Ghanaian? Because if we are all in one boat or one ship,if we cross over we all cross but if we drown we all do”
“As for this Afcon i think that was one of the major problems that we had, some people were not happy, they didn’t like the Black Stars to win their matches,to win the cup.For the first time the government has done everything possible for them to win” He told Ghanacrusader’s Sports.
He added that the national team should be dissolved if Ghanaians don’t want the team to win.
