Ashanti Regional Circles Public Relations Officer (PRO), Osei-Asibey has hinted that Asante Kotoko’s want-away striker, Songne Yacouba is committed to renewing his contract with the club after a fruitful dialogue with the Burkinabe and his representatives.
It could be recalled that the National Circles Chairman, Christopher Damenya last week revealed that, the supporters leadership would arrange to engage Yacouba in a dialogue to find out the plight of their star forward, find solutions and even pay money where needed to convince him to stay at the club.
The management of the club has already reiterated that they will not be able to meet the $150,000 demand by the forward before he renews his contract.
But according to Osei-Asibey, the 28-year-old has reduced his demands to enable him to continue his relationship with the Porcupines and are waiting for management’s response.
“National Circles Council has met Songne Yacouba and his reps and the player is ready to play, and has come down on their demands so we are waiting to hear from management on that. He is the supporters favourite and we need him,” Osei Assibey said in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
Songne Yacouba’s current contract with Asante Kotoko expires in April this year and failure to renew means he is on his way out of the club as a free agent.
