Former Hearts of Oak captain Yaw Amankwaah Mireku says beleaguered goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye must return to Burkina Faso following his uninspiring performance in the Super Clash that led to the Phobians losing 1-0 to Asante Kotoko.

The 36-year-old kicked into his own net a pass from defender Richard Akrofi and subsequently attracted red card 20 minutes later as Hearts failed to end their winless run against Kotoko since 2009.

“I will advise Soulama Abdoulaye to pack his bags and luggage and leave for his hometown in Burkina Faso,” Mireku told Metro FM. “If he is wise, he will take that decision as soon as possible to relocate to Burkina Faso.

“You cannot toy with the feelings of die-hard Hearts of Oak supporters and expect them to forgive you, especially in such a big game against a rival. A game that can potentially cause heart attacks to people?

“One must watch Soulama’s positioning and demeanour before he kicked that ball into his own net and you'll realise that it was an unpardonable mistake,” he added.

Goal understands that one of the Hearts of Oak supporters, Hudu Yahaya, collapsed after the game and was rushed to the Ridge Hospital but pronounced dead on Tuesday.
