The former Liberty Professionals attacker recently joined the MLS side. His standout performance ensured his status as the Ghana Premier League Goal King, an award given to the league’s top scorer. Latif was also crowned the best player in Ghana after scoring 18 incredible goals for his former side in the Ghana Premier League last season.
Former United States defender now head coach of Sporting Kansas City has spoken weeks after the capture of the Ghanaian international. Vermes said, “The kid has an incredible amount of dynamism. He’s a very dynamic player”.
“I’ve been around a lot of players, and he has a lot of great qualities, but one of the things about him is you tell him something once and he gets it. He figures things out right away. He’s adapted very quickly”.
“He’s a quiet kid, but at the same time he’s very dynamic. He’s fast and is doing really well with the group. He’s a great kid”.
Blessing received his first call-up to the Ghana Men’s National Team in December 2016 as a member of the Black Stars’ 30-man provisional squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but was not selected to the final roster.
Latif is currently on pre-season with Sporting Kansas City awaiting commencement of the MLS regular season scheduled March 3.
Latif’s Kansas City will start their campaign in an away fixture with DC United on March 4.
