Ghanaian sports fans still intent on having a feel of the Olympic Games will touch down in Greece Wednesday, some hours after midday.
The supporters numbering 120 flew from Accra Wednesday morning on a chartered flight from Pan African Airlines, Jordan.
The supporters have been stranded for almost a week as a result of hitches in flight arrangements.
Oscar Yao Doe, executive director of Doscar Travel and Tours, the agency authorized by the Ghana Olympic Committee to handle the travel arrangements of supporters, told JoySports that he was very relived to have pulled through the difficult times that engulfed him as a result of the delay.
Doscar has been under serious pressure to either convey some 200 supporters to Athens or refund their monies to them.
He said some of the fans had demanded their ticket fares back when the initial arrangement with Air Togo fell through, leaving the agency in a serious financial predicament.
Ghana?s campaign at the Olympics is almost over after a spell of uneventful outings in football and athletics.
But Oscar maintains that the group will be there to cheer Ghana?s 4x100 relay team on to a great showing on Friday.
He says the trip also presents an opportunity to tour some historic locations in Greece with just three days to end the Games.
Some fans who spoke to JoySports said they were going to cheer the Ghanaian contingent.
