Sports Minister for Mali

THE Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Edward Osei Kwaku leaves Accra today for Bamako, enroute Segou where the national soccer team, Black Stars are based for the Group B qualifying matches of the CAN 2002 in Mali.

The Stars who kick off Group B with the opening match against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Monday, may be motivated by the presence of the Sports Minister two days before the crucial encounter.

Sources close to the Ministry of Youth and Sports yesterday indicated that Mr Osei Kwaku would be back in Ghana after a week and return to Mali as the Black Stars progress in the competition.

It would be Mr Osei Kwaku’s first Nations Cup patronage as Minister of Youth and Sports.
