The Ministry of Youth and Sports is devising new ways to refuse an answer to the question on every Ghanaian’s lips.

How much was budgeted for the Black Stars’ participation in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt?

It’s been almost a week since Ghana were booted out of the competition by Tunisia in the round of 16 and the mystery remains unresolved.

Is it $8million? or $15 million as speculated by various media outlets in the country.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Sports Ministry, Elvis Adjei-Baah was given an opportunity in an interview with FOX FM to clear the air.

“Everyday new figures come up in the media and I think nobody trusts those speculations again. We’ve been consistent throughout this period because we don’t think it is the right time to account to the very good people of Ghana”

“We are not saying they do not have the right to know how much their tax has been used on team but we were saying it should be done at the appropriate time. Budget may not necessarily reflect the real expense the Ministry incurred on the team. It is now that the tournament is over that we are going to have a very good idea of how much was spent”
