The Sports Ministry is seeking greater cooperation with the Ghana Football Association to move football forward in the country.

Minister for Sports, Hon. Kofi Humado, who addressed Congress of the GFA says his office and the sport body must as a matter of urgency work "hand-in -hand" to improve the game.

The sector Minister joined the Ordinary Session of the GFA Congress on Friday as President of the sport body, Kwesi Nyantakyi and 19 Executive Committee members were officially sworn into office by Honorary President of Congress, Justice A.K.B Ampiah, a retired Supreme Court Judge.

Impressed with the efforts of the previous Executive Committee in improving Ghana football, Hon. Humado says an improved working arrangement would tremendously bolster the game.

"I am happy to be here with you this day. The work of Kwesi Nyantakyi and the Executive Committee deserves praise. They have done a great job," the Sports Minister said.

"I believe we can all work together and do more. Let's work hand-in-hand and together move football forward in this country.

"It is necessary for us to work together to benefit Ghana. When the President H.E. Atta Mills brought me on, he said I should at improving colts football which would bring us greater returns at the senior level.

"Let's be very cooperative. I urge you all to cooperate with us (Sports Ministry) and them (GFA). Together we can achieve something great."
