Starlets Vow To Die A Little For Ghana

Ghana’s opponents in the African Under 17 qualifying series, Kenya, will arrive on Friday evening. The Kenyans who beat Ghana 2-nil in the first leg two weeks ago in Nairobi will engage the Starlets at the Obuasi Sports Stadium on Saturday. It is unclear why the Kenyan squad decided to arrive late but they will be transported straight to Obuasi upon their arrival.

The Kenyans have a two-goal advantage from the first leg and their confidence is on a soaring tip. The team has met with the Sports Minister in the new Mwai Kibaki government who charged them to bring glory to the new Kenyan nation.

Reports on a Kenyan news website say the Minister told the young lads to make the government proud by clocking the first win for any Kenyan football team in this new year.

The Kenyans are in confident mood but Black Starlets coach Silas Tetteh says his boys will deflate the confidence of the East Africans. The Starlets need to score three clear goals if they are to keep alive their qualification bid for the African Under 17 tournament. Silas Tetteh says it will be unthinkable for the Starlets to falter on Saturday and that they will approach the match with a “die a little for Ghana attitude.”
