Sources available from the camp of the national U-17 team, Black Starlets has revealed that the team’s training tour is gradually hitting a snag due to the difficulty in getting teams in Egypt for their scheduled matches . Information available to Solid Sports indicates that the team’s performance against the youth side of Egyptian giants El-Ahly has scared most of the teams and has refused to play the starlets in any friendly match.

Since the commencement of their tour in Egypt in preparation for the Africa U-17 Championship slated for Togo in March, the Starlets have played about six matches beating Kalabar 4-0, Armbis 2-0, Al-Mostabal 2-0 and 5-0 in a replay, EL-Ahly 3-1 and Al- Tahr 6-1 yesterday. The team has therefore been fearsome to most teams hence their withdrawal from the matches even hours to kick off time.

However, efforts are being made by the technical team to get some clubs for the remaining four matches before they finally leave for the Tournament.

In a related development, the head Coach Of the team, Fred Osam Duodu who is currently in Ghana is expected to leave for Spain with strikers Nathaniel Asamoah and Sadiq Adams for the Meridian Cup match between Africa XI and Europe XI in Barcelona.
