? As Essien and Co. join the team in Kenya
The Black Stars manager, Ratomir Dujkovic has expressed his delight at the arrival of Michael Essien at the team?s camp in Kenya in preparation for the crucial world qualifier against South Africa this weekend.
Dujkovic told SPACE FM from his base in Kenya this morning that the presence of Essien would provide some fluidity in the midfield which is crucial for an attacking game on Saturday.
Michael Essien joined colleagues in Kenya this morning together with goalkeeper George Owu who had received SOS message from manager Dujkovic to join the team as a result of a disturbing injury to Sammy Adjei.
The Ghanaian international who plays for the French Division one side Lyon has not featured for Ghana since playing in the qualifier against South Africa in Kumasi. Ghana won 3-0. Essien has since stayed out of the team as a result of suspension, injury or club commitments.
The combative midfielder who was named the French player of the year has in recent times become the hottest commodity in Europe with links to Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Barcelona.
Information from the Stars' camp has it that Baba Amando, Joetex Frimpong and Laryea Kingston are expected to join the team by Wednesday.
Meanwhile Baffour Gyan, Asamoah Gyan, Hans Adu-Sarpei and Kofi Amponsah are out due to injury. Kojo Poku would not be available as a result of club commitment. Adoquaye Pappoe can not play. He is currently serving a match suspension for two yellow cards.
The players who are currently in camp are; Sannie Mohammed, Patrick Antwi, George Owu, Sammy Adjei, Dan Coleman, Dan Adusei Issah Ahmed and Hamza Mohammed.
The rest are Haminu Dramani, Yusif Chibsah, Emmanuel Osei, John Paintsil, Mattew Amoah and Sule Ali Muntari.
Others include John Mensah, Michael Essien, Godwin Atram, Yakubu Abubakar and the skipper Stephen ?Tornado? Appiah.
