Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, minister for sports and education, has reiterated the Government?s commitment in ensuring the senior national football team, the Black Stars, qualified to make its maiden appearance at the German 2006 World Cup.
According to him, qualification of the Stars to the highest soccer fiesta is top on the ministry?s agenda and the Government was ready to offer the needed support, to ensure that dream is realized.
The sports minister made this known on Tuesday at a meeting with the Stars? coach, Ratomir Dujkovic, and members of the GFA.
Osafo-Maafo observed that lack of finance had always been identified as the bane of Ghana sports and assured that his outfit was bent on ending the trend.
?The Stars? qualification to the World Cup has always remained a top priority and we will do all that is within our capabilities to get there,? he said.
